Other Testing > CLEP

Starting January, 2014, all CLEP exam payments must be made by test-takers online through the My Account registration portal . The registration process through My Account is already a required step for testing at iBT test centers and starting in January it will be required for eCBT test centers, as well. Other forms of payment (i.e. credit card, check, money orders) will no longer be acceptable at eCBT test centers for CLEP Exams (individual test center fee collection remains as is).

In My Account, upon completing the registration process each test-taker will print a Registration Ticket that they must present at the test center as proof of payment. The ticket will include a Ticket ID (used with iBT) and a Voucher ID (used with eCBT) to be used for check-in at the test center.

For more information, contact CLEP Services at 1-800-257-9558 or clep@collegeboard.org .

The $106 cost to take a CLEP is comprised of two fees.  The CLEP fee is $80 and must be paid at the link above.  The Testing Center fee is $26 and is paid using the following link; select the U of O as your CLEP Exam location.

The CLEP exams are a set of nationally standardized exams, available in a number of different subject areas. Passing scores and actual course equivalencies are determined by each college or university. CLEP exams are scheduled by appointment.  CLEP exams are accepted for credit at over 2,800 colleges and universities, including the University of Oregon.

The University of Oregon Testing Center is an open CLEP center which allows us to test anyone interested in earning college credit through the CLEP exams. CLEP exams are administered on a computer using software that permits immediate scoring. See below for information about the exams, including test descriptions, outlines, and sample tests. Each College or University determines its own qualifying scores, so before taking a test, please check with your institution to see if the new passing scores have been set.
