AEIS - Academic English for International Students

AEIS is an institutional English language program for international students whose TOEFL score is below 575 on the paper based test (PBT) or below 88 on the Internet based test (iBT) . The intent of the program is to provide international students with further English language training so as to enhance their likelihood of success at the University of Oregon.

Participation is required and is coordinated by Megan Sullivan, Office for International Programs (541-346-1202) and Cynthia Keiffer at American English Institute (541-346-3945). Placement testing for the AEIS program typically occurs once the student has arrived on campus and will result in either placement into or waiver out of AEIS English language courses. International students who score above 575 (PBT) or above 88 (iBT) on TOEFL and who do not have credit for WR 121 are required to take the AEIS writing placement test that is given at the Testing Office and during the placement test dates shown below. Questions concerning participation and placement in the AEIS program must be directed to
Megan Sullivan. Other questions? You can email your questions to us at testing@uoregon.edu
