Students must complete two terms of writing to receive their degree. They can satisfy the writing requirement by completing WR 121 and either WR 122 or 123.
Students who can demonstrate that they meet the learning outcomes for each course may take a waiver exam during the first week of the fall, winter, and spring terms.
To understand WR 121 exemption possibilities, students should refer to the Composition Program's information on standardized test scores and exemptions for writing courses.
Transfer students who have completed writing courses elsewhere should consult the Office of the Registrar for more information.
We recommend that students complete AEIS courses before taking WR 121, because developing writing skills in AEIS courses will prepare students for success in WR 121 and other courses.
